In this first course in a 4-course sequence, the student is introduced to the rudiments of botany, the history of herbal usage, and several common herbs that can be found in the garden or kitchen cupboard.

An overview of common magickal plants, where they can be found, and how to bring magickal plants into one’s workings. A brief overview of traditional uses of some common herbs will be given.

This course is a survey of the history of alchemy. Concepts covered include famous alchemists from Hermes Trismegistus to Nicolas Flamel, as well as alchemy’s storied history from ancient Egypt to modern-day chemistry.

This course gives an introduction to practical aspects of alchemy, demonstrating experiments that can be done at home in the kitchen. A core concept of the class is reading alchemical texts critically and evaluating texts for effectiveness and feasibility. An understanding of alchemical symbols will be grounded in this course.

The uses and associations of trees and shrubs will be detailed in this class, as well as the tree in myth and lore. Wandlore, tree medicine, and arboreal magick will be covered.

In this continuation of potions, more advanced potions and preparation techniques are covered. The use of liquors in potions is explored, as well as the reading of historical potion recipes.

Spagyrics, or herbal alchemy, is introduced to the student in this class. Sulfur, mercury, and salts of plants are discussed theoretically, with individual plants evaluated under the auspices of the four humours.

In this course, further advanced herbs are introduced to the student. Herbal techniques such as wildcrafting are explored, as well as the proper storing of herbs for future uses.

This course covers the beginning uses of herbs in magick in the form of everyday charms. Basic spellcasting with herbs and the utilization of herbs in charms for protection, luck, health, and related purposes will be covered.

In this course, the alchemy of various metals will be covered, as well as the historical and magickal implications of the infamous Philosopher’s Stone and the search to transmute lead to gold. The mundane periodic table will be surveyed, and the uses of metals in ritual and spellcasting introduced.

Alchemy’s role in magick will be explored in this course, and the student will connect alchemy to everyday spellcraft. The alchemical correspondences of planets, metals, and humours will be expanded upon, as well as the role of alchemy with regard to Tarot and other forms of divination.

Flying ointment, or witches’ ointment, will be evaluated in this brief course. Historical recipes and modern-day uses will be examined.

Fungi have played an important role in magick throughout history, but are often associated with darker magick and poison. In this course, the role of fungi in practical magick is examined, as well as spirits and spells associated with fungi.

This course covers the uses of herbs in magick in more complex ritual contexts. Students will learn how to use herbs to augment magick, cleanse and purify ritual areas, cast protective spells, and more.

In this course, alchemy will be examined from the perspective of spirituality and psychology, helping the practitioner pursue higher states of being through transcendent alchemy. The Emerald Tablet and other alchemical philosophy will be explored, as well as the spiritual aspects of metals and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The Poison Path will be covered in this course with regard to pharmako (plant and other substances utilized), praxis (both in spirituality and magick), and uses of the Poison Path in other magickal practices, from ceremonial magick to dusk walking.

In this course, the student will be introduced to the notion of kitchen witchery, its backgrounds in alchemy, and its applications today. Concepts covered include spells to be cast in the kitchen or during cooking, bringing magick into the everyday kitchen, and the magickal uses of common kitchen tools.

In this course, the notion of potions and philtres will be introduced to the student, including a brief history of potions, the brewing of simple potions, and the skills needed for further work in potions. Potions are defined here as philtres, magickal brews, and related preparations.

This course outlines the tools and chemicals in an alchemical laboratory, from glass apparatus to salts, essences, minerals, and herbs commonly encountered in alchemical texts. Basic laboratory safety will be reviewed, as will translating ancient alchemical words into modern language.

In this course, more advanced herbs are introduced to the student. Herbal techniques such as growing herbs for magickal and medicinal purposes are introduced, as is the critical evaluation of purchased materials.

This course finishes the Kitchen Witchery sequence with more complicated recipes for foods to be prepared during sabbats and feast days. More magickal spells for the kitchen are introduced, as well as the use of food in offerings for deities, ancestors, and spirits.

This course introduces Ayurveda, its history, its applications and modern usage, and the common plants and compounds used in Ayurveda.

This course gives an overview of essential oils and their magickal and healing properties, along with the preparation of oils for ritual and magickal use. Distillation techniques and other preparation techniques for essential oils will also be covered.

In this course, the first of a two-part sequence, the student will begin applying their understanding of herb lore to investigating the plants in a location of their choosing, preferably their local environs. Students will begin to explore how to research local plants and connect with the genius loci of the land.

In the last course in the Potions sequence, the higher mysteries of potion-making are considered, and concepts such as necromantic brews and the capturing of living essences are introduced. Students will cover the roles of poisons and poisonous substances in potions, as well as historical antidotes.

A continuation of herbal alchemy, as well as an introduction to the roles of herbal alchemical preparations in magick.

The four classical elements, as well as the element of Spirit, will be introduced to the student in this course. Each element will be covered in depth, with considerations regarding its correspondences, role in alchemy and magick, and the importance of blending the elements in alchemy.

The last in the 4-course sequence, this course finishes the coverage of more advanced herbs and details the preparation of more complex tinctures and elixirs.

In this course, incenses and resins are explored for their uses in magick, purification, ritual, medicine, and spirituality. Students will also be introduced to the crafting of incenses and the correspondences of incenses and resins.

In the second course of a two-part sequence, students will continue to explore the plants and plant lore of the region of their choosing. Students will create a small guide to the plants and spirits of the locale and attempt to trace the folkloric and magickal uses of their selected plants.

The darker aspects of herbology are examined in this class, such as the association of various herbs with the Devil and demonology. The roles of herbs in necromancy, summoning, binding, and hexing are covered, as well as the protective uses of certain herbs.
